Updated October 18, 2026. This page explains the information used by NewMediaShow.com and its newsletter. New Media Show is hosted by Rob Greenlee. For privacy questions or requests, email robgreenlee@gmail.com.
Newsletter subscriptions
The signup form asks for your email address. The newsletter uses MailPoet in WordPress and the MailPoet Sending Service to manage subscriptions and deliver email. Subscription records include your email address, subscription and confirmation status, and information associated with signing up and receiving email. The current configuration also collects browser time zone information.
The newsletter is sent with each new episode. It includes episode information, editorial resources and clearly identified sponsor information. You can stop receiving it through the unsubscribe link in an email, or use its manage-subscription link to review your subscription.
Email measurement and cookies
MailPoet’s current engagement setting is Full. It measures email opens and link clicks and can use browser cookies to associate website activity with a subscriber. Email software and privacy features can affect those measurements. For details about the service, see MailPoet’s data information and MailPoet’s cookie documentation.
Comments, forms and website requests
If you submit a comment or contact information, the site receives the fields you provide. WordPress and services supporting site delivery, security and spam prevention may also process technical information such as IP address, browser information and request logs. Avoid including private information in a public comment. The audience questionnaire opens on Jotform; information submitted there is also subject to that service’s practices.
Players, links and contributions
Audio and video players, including Blubrry and embedded third-party media, connect to their respective providers. Those services may receive technical information and use their own cookies. Following links to YouTube, social networks or other sites takes you to services with their own privacy practices.
Contribution links open Stripe or PayPal. Information you enter during checkout is handled through the payment provider. Review the provider’s privacy information before submitting payment details.
Your requests and retained records
Unsubscribing stops newsletter delivery but does not itself erase past subscription or delivery records. Current MailPoet settings retain per-subscriber sending-status records without an automatic expiration. You can contact Rob to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information associated with your email address. Requests may require verification of the address, and some records may need to be retained for security, administrative or legal reasons.
This page will be updated as the website’s features and data practices change. For questions about a particular provider, consult that provider’s privacy information as well.
Supporter accounts and billing
Updated November 3, 2026. The New Media Show supporter program uses a WordPress account to manage billing access, included benefits and optional recognition. The site stores the account email, subscription status, payment and invoice references, benefit-delivery records and recognition choices. Stripe hosts payment entry and processes payments under the Trust Factor Lab billing name; this site does not receive or store your full card number.
Necessary account-setup, recovery and service messages are separate from the newsletter. Becoming a supporter does not automatically enroll an address in marketing email. Optional public recognition requires separate consent and review. Withdrawal removes the public recognition; it does not cancel billing. A brief on-air acknowledgment already published cannot be removed from an existing episode.
Account and payment-reference data are used to administer support, confirm payments, provide benefits, address requests and reconcile records. Access is limited to authorized administration and the providers needed to run these services, including WordPress hosting, the configured email service and Stripe. Billing API credentials are encrypted in the WordPress database using a separate server-side site secret; the settings screen does not display stored credentials.
Necessary payment-reference, subscription and benefit-delivery records are reviewed for removal seven years after the last relevant transaction. Records needed for accounting, tax, unresolved refunds or disputes, or another legal obligation may be retained longer. Optional recognition is handled separately and can be withdrawn from the account. Contact robgreenlee@gmail.com about access, correction or deletion; identity and any retention obligations are checked before records are removed. Read the supporter billing, refund and account-information terms.
